Thank you for Grandmas

I just have to say how thankful I am to my kids grandmas. Mason and Isabelle have the best Grandmas ever. Last weekend Grandma Knight came and got the kids for the weekend. We were all very excited. Mason and Isabelle were excited because they were getting to go to Grandmas and play with Katie and the dogs and Rob and I were excited because we were going to get a weekend alone. Well we did have a fairly good weekend. Sadly on Thursday night Rob and I got the flu. That's just our luck. On Friday Rob was doing better but my flu lasted all day friday. I took some medicine and a unisom and took a four hour nap. We then tried to have dinner which consisted of Jimmy Johns only the best sandwich shop, and then we watched a movie. At the moment I can't remember what the movie was. We went to bed at about the wee hours of the morning 1 or 2 and I slept until 12:30 p.m. It was glorious. Rob had to work Saturday morning so I woke up and read to nice peace and quiet. We went to the movie Avatar, which was awesome, and then out to dinne to Texas Roadhouse, Yum. It was so nice to have a weekend to relax without someone nagging for a treat or whatever.
I am thankful that Grandmas are willing to take the kids and love them. Thanks Grandma Knight we love you.

He makes this face all the time

Mason singing

So I have posted before that my kids love the Mama Mia soundtrack. Well there is one song "Don't go wasting you emotions." It is a guy and a girl singing. Well Mason was standing on the back of the loveseat and started singing with the CD but he would only sing the guy parts and wanted me to sing the girl parts. I was crying from laughing so hard. I knew I had to get it on video so I asked him if he wanted to do it again. He sang the whole thing this time but it was still hilarious. If you know anything about singing you know that singing the vowels with short consonants. You will hear that he only sang the vowels, manly because he dosen't know the words. I love his facial expressions he is so serious and concentrating.

Isabelle's New hair

So I cut Izzy's hair. Some of you might think I am crazy, but man is it so much easier to do. I am pretty anal about doing Isabelle's hair and like to curl it and everything. It was down to the middle of her back and wouls not hold curl no matter what. When she would get out of the tub it was almost impossible to brush out. So I decided to try and cut it. My friend Jana cuts hair and so I had her cut it and I love it. Jana cut an A-line style cut shorter in the back with some layers and then longer in the front. I started growing out her bangs about 8 months ago and Izzy is very cute. She looks older, but it makes her hair look thicker and healthier. She is adorable no matter what.

Our Christmas

We had a great Christmas vacation. We went to the Knight's for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. It was a blast. We had a family dinner with the Mills/Homer (Robs Moms side) family and did a fun version of the Nativity. It was fun and good to remember the true meaning of Chirstmas. When we got home, to grandma and grandpa knights, about 9:00 pm, it was a chore to get the kids to go to bed. I tried not to let them take a nap so they would go to bed easier. Well Izzy got tired of waiting for Robert to get home from work so we could go to grandmas house, she fell asleep on the floor in the living room. That nap was about an hour and a half. Then we had an hour and a half drive to SLC, and guess who slept the whole way there. Yeah you guessed it Isabelle and Mason for that matter. So for Izzy that is a total of 3 hours. I knew we would be in trouble that night. I was right. I don't think we got the kids to be until about 11 o'clock. Then we had to also get Katie, Robs sister, to bed before "Santa" could come. We finally got to have Santa to come about midnight. We had to put together Mason's Thomas scooter. Isabelle got a pony from Santa. There were about 15 people there on Christmas morning. Grandpa Knight told us that we could not get up before 7:30. He got up at 6 and the kids didn't wake up until 8. There you go Grandpa. It was very fun watching the kids get there Santa gifts, but when Izzy saw Mason's scooter she said she wanted a Dora scooter. I will confess that she did tell me many times that she wanted one, but I just thought she would forget. Well she didn't. They a happy end to that story but you have to wait till I get the video.

It was total chaos opening presents on Christmas morning, but it was awesome. Mason and Isabelle made out like bandits. We would try to find gifts for someone else in the family and everytime we would pick one up it for either for Mason Izzy or Katie. Everyone enjoyed watching them open their gifts.

Robert's mom bought us kitchen table chairs among many other things. We can finally sit up to the table for meals together. She also bought Rob a desk chair for the computer. It is very comfy. We loved being with the knight family and can't wait for the many other Christmases to come.

On the 26th we drove to Twin Falls to be with the Hirschi's. It was also so much fun. When we got there Santa came (aka my dad) and gave Izzy a princess scooter and Mason a pair of Buzz Lightyear pjs. (Video to come) Isabelle was a little scared but responsive to him, but Mason was in awe. Santa called Mason a few times before Christmas to make sure he was being a good boy, cause he was driving mama crazy. He smiled and hugged and talked to Santa and it was adorable. My dad loves it and his suit is the best one I have ever seen. Love you Santa (Dad)

Jason and Lorisa and two adorable kids (love baby Abby) and Amy and her cute kids were there and we had fun. It has become a tradition in the Hirschi family that when we go home for Chirstmas someone or everyone gets the flu. Last year for Janae's wedding some missed her endowment because of the flu and this year Jason, Brogan, Julie, Janae, and Sadie all had the flu while at home. Luckily my family didn't contract it this year. Knock on wood.

Dad and Mom made an amazing prime rib dinner, between people getting sick, it was so yummy. Some of you may know that we are a crazy game playing fam so most of our time is spent at the kitchen table playing some game or playing the wii , yes my parents have a wii. We love joking and playing games and I always look forward to playing games with Julie and mom.

Overall we had a great Christmas and the kids are already telling us what santa will bring them next year.
